We’re regulars at a range of business events—conferences, workshops, summits, mixers and meet-ups—and have an impressive collection of lanyards, badges and business cards to match. These experiences drive us to infuse something new into an annual event that we design and produce at By & Large: the NJ Ad Club Innovation Summit—now in it’s second year of lighting a fuse on new ideas at Bell Works, a legendary location of innovation since the days of the transistor.
This year’s Innovation Summit, sponsored by Comcast Spotlight and Centro, gathered a diverse cross-section of thought leaders around topics like the 21st century reality of building brands from the ground up, the strategic impact of shaping customer experience, fostering collaboration across remote teams, how Millennials & Gen Z are turning the market upside down, and cultivating a constant culture of innovation in your company. These are some of the conversations that are challenging our clients and colleagues right now, so they were worth some airtime in a focused gathering of in-house and agency teams.
Rather than an evening of passively listening to panels, all topics were engaged in round table conversations moderated by market leaders from Bob’s Discount Furniture, InSites Consulting, TerraCycle, New Haircut, branding expert & former Managing Partner of Carbone Smolan Agency, Paul Pierson, and By & Large. There was plenty of time for networking as well.
By & Large presented use cases for how Augmented Reality for Facebook and Snapchat makes a once “futuristic” technology easily accessible on apps used by millions of consumers. We shared examples drawn from across the industry and included our own recent award-winning work. Our team also showcased our 360 Video work in suites exhibiting Virtual Reality and 360 projects from a range of NJ-based agencies pushing the envelope of possibility.
Throughout the evening, our friends at Grey Sky Films captured footage and interviews from the Innovation Summit, which we used to create compelling videos for social media content and sponsor value. You can view the full playlist of 2018 Innovation Summit videos HERE.
Plans for the 2019 Innovation Summit are already underway…see you next year!
